Michael McClung, MD, FACP, FACE, FASBMR
Dr. Michael McClung is an endocrinologist and founding director of the Oregon Osteoporosis Center in Portland. After he completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, he has held several academic appointments and has been actively involved in the training of young physicians at the Oregon Health Sciences University and in the Department of Medical Education at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland.
At the Oregon Osteoporosis Center, Dr. McClung had an active clinical practice, took part in multiple educational initiatives and was the principal investigator in many clinical trials evaluating the effects of therapeutic agents for that disease. He has been involved in the development of clinical guidelines for several national osteoporosis societies, is a member of editorial boards of multiple journals and currently serves on the Board of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.
