Susan L. Samson, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FACE is President Elect of AACE and has served as the Chair of Endocrine University (2020) and the AACE Annual Meeting (Los Angeles 2019).
-Professor and Chair of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and Senior Associate Consultant Endocrinology and Neurological Surgery at Mayo Clinic in FLorida, specializing in Pituitary disorders.
-Previous Medical Director of the Baylor College of Medicine Pituitary Center (Houston, TX) and Endocrinology Fellowship Director, having trained more than 60 Endocrinology fellows as Associate Program Director and Program Director.
-Awarded the Fulbright and Jaworski L.L.P. Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching and Evaluation, the Rising Star Award, and Woman of Excellence Award at Baylor College of Medicine.
-Served nationally as Council member and Secretary/Treasurer of the American Program Directors of Endocrinology and Metabolism (APDEM), member of ACGME Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship Milestones 2.0 taskforce, and is Chair of the ABIM Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment Approval Committee for Endocrinology.
- Principal investigator and steering chair for clinical trials for patients with growth hormone deficiency, acromegaly and Cushing’s disease
-Co-author on consensus documents for diagnosis and management of pituitary disorders including for acromegaly, growth hormone deficiency, and Cushing’s syndrome.
-Member of the Editorial Boards of the journal Pituitary and Endocrine Today. She also is the co-editor (with Dr. Ioachimescu) of the book Pituitary Disorders Throughout the Lifecycle (Springer Nature 2022).
