Dr. Honey East graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi, where she went on to complete a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology, metabolism, and diabetes. She served on faculty for 10 years as Assistant and Associate Professor of Medicine, as well as serving as Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine. Additionally, Dr East was the Director of the University’s Lipid Clinic and Cardiometabolic Clinic.
Dr East is a recipient of numerous grants, a principal investigator of several clinical trials, and a published author in peer-reviewed journals including The American Journal of Cardiology, Diabetes Care, and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr East remains Board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism through the American Board of Internal Medicine, and in clinical lipidology through the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. She is now in private practice in Jackson, Mississippi.
