Dr Elena A Christofides, MD, FACE, is the chief executive officer at Endocrinology Associates, Inc based in Columbus, Ohio. She is also the founder and director of Endocrinology Research Associates, Inc, an independent research facility conducting all phases of clinical research. Dr. Christofides earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She completed her residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, followed by an endocrinology and metabolism fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Christofides is dual board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
Dr. Christofides is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. She is a member of the Diabetes Nutrition and Technology advisory group at the ADA. She serves on the Diabetes Algorithm Task Force at AACE and is the past Chair of the Obesity and Nutrition Resource Center. Dr Christofides is an editor for several publications in the areas of endocrinology, metabolism and reproductive health including MedCentral, a web-based educational platform. Dr Christofides is known for her patient advocacy, which includes a patient-focused book called ‘Living with HypoParathyroidism’ and a patient education video series on nutrition, ‘Shop With The Doc’, which won a Silver Medal in the prestigious Telly Awards.
