Sarika Rao, D.O., F.A.C.E is an oncologic endocrinologist in the Divisions of Endocrinology and Hematology/Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida (MCF) and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She is also the associate program director of the endocrinology fellowship at MCF. She received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University, followed by residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She then completed an advanced fellowship in oncologic endocrinology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Her clinical and academic focus includes advanced thyroid cancer, benign and malignant adrenal tumors, and endocrinopathies from other cancer therapies. Dr. Rao has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in her niche field of medicine and continues to remain active in clinical trials. She serves on several national committees furthering education for both patients and clinician. She is also a member of the Mayo Clinic multidisciplinary endocrine oncology disease group, and has also founded and leads the enterprise-wide adrenal tumor board.
