Dr Cyrus Desouza is a Professor of Medicine and the Chief of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE USA. He did his endocrine fellowship at Tulane University , New Orleans LA.
Dr Desouza is an experienced clinical trialist and researcher in the area of diabetes and obesity. He has been a site PI for several large NIH trials such as GRADE and D2d. He is very interested in improving the outcomes for diabetes especially in the cardiovascular area. He has also the site PI in several large GLP-1 CVD outcomes trial and in the Global Expert Panel such as LEADER and SELECT. He has experince in clinical trials in the field of long acting insulin analogues. Dr Desouza is also funded by a Merit Review grant looking at the mechanism of insulin resistance in obesity.
