Laila S. Tabatabai, MD, CCD. Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, Houston Methodist Hospital. Director, Houston Methodist Bone Health Initiative. Dr. Tabatabai completed her endocrinology fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She joined Houston Methodist in 2014 and created the institution's Bone Health Initiative, a multidisciplinary program targeting post-fracture and osteoporosis patients. Dr. Tabatabai is an expert in rare bone diseases, including X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets and hypophosphatasia. She has extensive involvement in osteoporosis education, both for trainees (she served as Methodist's endocrinology fellowship program director) and at a national level for physicians of all specialties. Dr. Tabatabai currently serves as Vice-Chair for AACE's Bone & Parathyroid DSN.
